Little guys grow up

This saying certainly applies to The Guys of HR More and more companies are seeing the benefits of our business and we are growing steadily with the help of our Boys and Girls. Founder David Schimmel is ambitious, but also realistic. In conversation, he talks about his goals and where the focus is for this year. Expansion abroad, its own HR platform and staff expansion are dots on the near horizon.

Where do you see The Guys of HR in a year?
A year from now, we, The Guys of HR, will be at even more companies. We will provide our clients with a better service than what their own internal HR department is capable of. This is made possible by our own developed software, where we are even more committed to automation, and links between systems. The Guys will take on a more advisory role. Because we are hugely scalable with our software, we can start to focus more on consulting rather than just execution.

A year from now, we will be more and more internally involved with our clients, allowing us to take more of a lead, in addition to offering advice. This position allows us to independently redesign business processes. This means that we not only want to change internal policies, but we can change them.
In addition, The Guys will be even more involved in internal training in 2022. Consider, for example, providing training to HR managers. From our own experience and expertise, we can support managers in dealing with their employees.

What are specific goals for this year?
We have set a growth rate of 25% as a goal. Our services then proceed directly with customers or through partners. In addition, we have developed our own platfrom. This smart software will eventually make it possible, to serve customers in an automated way.
We are also going to invest more in transferring knowledge. In the third quarter of this year, we will organize an off- or online meeting for this purpose for associates and partners. Thus, I will provide an update on employment law.

Why do these goals have your focus?
Because employers need our product, there is a lot of demand for HR support. Experience shows that employers’ focus is not on HR, which is a missed opportunity. There is a lot of ignorance in the field of HR. This is where the potential for collaboration lies for us. It is important for us to invest in these goals to expand our network. This allows us to help more customers.

How will you accomplish these goals? What and who are needed to achieve these goals?
A number of things are needed to make this happen. Especially joint ventures and partnerships, under the guise, stronger together. We are also investing more in our own HR and our people, this means we are going to scale ourselves internally. We plan to hire more specialists to work full-time with us and bring a large dose of experience. By working more from project management with partners and the advent of new API developments, we expect to attract these additional employees.

How do you plan to increase the visibility of the Boys next year?
We believe it is important to share our knowledge. Our organization sits on a wealth of relevant HR information, and by sharing substantive publications, we trust that parties know how to find us. Consider publishing news releases on relevant HR topics such as employment law, subsidy and/or support measures or payroll. We want to be a source of knowledge and experience for our relations and to radiate this. These are associated with the release of our newsletter and posts on our LinkedIn company page. In addition, the revamping of our website will have a positive effect on our visibility.

What is currently in high demand in the HR field?
We are in a market where it is increasingly important to be able to move faster while obtaining more information. This is something that we as The Guys from HR can respond to well. Through our new API links, business processes can be accelerated and made more efficient. This allows us to take the client’s business to the next level.

We also see a development in the area of internal care and attention to the employee. The effects of Covid-19 have increased the distance between manager and employee. The demand for more short conversations with the employee in the form of an ongoing dialogue is growing. The Guys respond to this by taking on this task or going to support executives personally in this.

What kind of projects do you hope to do this year?
We are in the process of an international rollout, and in the process we are now serving our first relationship in Germany. Personally, I also get happy when we get to support clients in acquisitions. Often these are complex trajectories and this challenge is what makes it so interesting.
I want to remove stress from clients. Creating peace in the company. Let the employer focus on revenue and we’ll take care of HR. We want to get closer to the customer, operate more from within. Then we are so involved that we have a better overview. Being involved during the consultation, and not getting the question afterwards. Being able to anticipate when something happens and be part of the solution immediately.
